April Adventures – Finn’s World Book Release, Shore Shots Surf Film Festival
Hi guys, oh my god it has been such an exciting two weeks.
This week’s blog is just a little different as it is kind of an update of some awesome events I just did and also a bit of a line up of what is coming up in the next two weeks, if any of you lovely humans would like to join me!
So adventures began a few weeks ago with a photoshoot on Achill island with an amazing crew and an awesome surfer girl. We were put up for the night in the lovely Achill Cliff House Hotel, I could not recommend these guys more for folks travelling gluten free as they were super super accommodating! The shoot went really well and hopefully I’ll have a little more to share on that soon.
Fraoch Yoga Retreat
Then last weekend was a wonderful yoga retreat with the amazing ladies from Fraoch. These retreats are hosted all around the country a few times a year with the dream team combo of Luna (yogi) and Fink (foodie extrodinare).
Fast forward into this week and it has just been so amazing to see the cookbook Finn’s World hitting bookstores. I’ve been absolutely chuffed getting photos from folks getting the book, of window displays and best of all making and enjoying the recipes.
Myself and the lovely team at my publishers Gill have been go go go getting things ready for the book launches next week, one in my beloved Bundoran with food by me and live music and the second in Dublin with food from the book being cooked by the lovely people in the Fumbally cafe and an intro from Sally McKenna (I did a little fan girl squeal when I heard she was on for it!).
For lovely Dublin based humans I’ll be doing a cooking demo at Eat Yard beside the Bernard Shaw this coming Friday at 7pm and it would be wonderful to see some friendly faces!!
There’s also some very exciting top secret filming going on this Wednesday as well and then my first Turf n’ Surf BBQ of the summer this weekend!
Shore Shots Surf Film Festival
This weekend just gone I was delighted to be part of the Shore Shots Surf Film Festival in Sligo. The guys put together an amazing line up of surfers, photographers, filmmakers, activists, sciences, artists and so much more! I popped my live audience interview cherry, chatting on the Banter stage and had such good craic with Jim Carroll from the Irish Times. The rest of the weekend was just a wonderful jumble of inspiring surf and foodie films, tasty food and drinks, live music, catching up with old friends from around the country and basically just wandering around with big dorky grin on my face.
Thanks so much to all the wonderful folks who’ve made the run up to and release of the book so far just absolutely amazing!!!
